Orientation
Today is the big day. No, its not the first day of school. Its the day of orientation and the day when I will hopefully, get all my questions answered and all my doubts cleared regarding the school process. :)
Winkie is, simply put, excited. Very. What got him even more into the mood was this special handwritten postcard from his teacher. It arrived on Friday, just in time, and addressed to his name. That, in itself, was special. And her warm, enthusiastic words were just that flavorful topping. Recording it here for posterity...
Welcome to our Class! We're going to have a great year in Kindergarten, learning lots of new things. I can't wait to meet you and your parents!
He read it on his own at first and then had me read it back to him, with all the right tones and inflections, his face breaking into the most gleaming smile everytime. I hope that's always the smile he will have for school.
Wish us luck for today!

hey T,
just got back after dropping LI'L A in school (his first day, sniff!)...orientation was Friday, teachers and school staff are extremely helpful and so don't hesitate to ask any questions...no question is too dumb.
or if u see a parent with an older sibling then talk to them...they are very knowledge able (they've dOne it before!!) and ofcourse the teacher is swamped -the day of orientation.
I know.....Li'l A had the same reaction to his welcome letter as well...and I hope he continues to love school too :)
